Black Bag 2025 Movie Review

Black Bag follows a disgraced MI6 operative (Fassbender) pulled into a high-stakes mission involving a stolen briefcase containing deadly geopolitical secrets. As he navigates a web of betrayal, he crosses paths with a ruthless CIA agent (Blanchett) and a mysterious hacker (Page). The film blends Bourne-style action with Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy-level intrigue.

Written by Mission: Impossible’s David Koepp, the script is full of smart jokes and surprises. Some people think the “Severus” secret at the center of the story isn’t explained enough – it’s more of an excuse for the action than something real.

At just 93 minutes, the movie doesn’t waste time, though some critics (like Allison Rose from FlickDirect) wish it was 15-20 minutes longer to explain the big twists better. It starts slow but builds to an exciting finish, with a dinner party scene that everyone loves – it’s both funny and full of danger.
