Ground Zero 2025 Movie Review
The story, screenplay, and dialogues for Ground Zero are penned by Sanchit Gupta and Priyadarshee Srivastava, with Chiranjeevi Bajpai contributing additional dialogues. Gupta and Srivastava had previously collaborated with director Tejas Deoskar on the social drama Chhatriwali, and their partnership once again delivers a gripping, emotionally charged narrative.
At the heart of the story is Officer Dubey (referred to here simply as “Dube” for brevity)—a man of fierce conviction and fearless resolve. He’s the kind of leader who takes risks not for glory, but to ensure that life becomes less dangerous for ordinary citizens. His courage and integrity command deep respect from his fellow officers, many of whom are willing to lay down their lives for him.
But Dube’s battle isn’t just against terrorists—it’s also about changing minds. He believes that rehabilitating brainwashed youth is just as critical as capturing militants. One such young man is Hussain (played by Mir Mehrooz), who, once misguided, becomes devoted to Dube and plays a key role in helping him track the notorious “pistol gang”—a group of radicalized college students lured by money and the false promise of martyrdom.
As the mission intensifies and incidents unfold rapidly, Dube’s instinct to take risks only grows stronger. In one telling moment, he casually lies to his concerned wife (Sai Tamhankar), claiming he’s off to the office to “sign some files,” while in reality, he’s heading into dangerous territory. Despite his stoic exterior, Dube is a father haunted by fears for his family’s safety and tormented by the deaths of his fellow officers at the hands of this elusive gang.
However, after the attack on Parliament and with intelligence pointing to Ghazi Baba’s presence in Srinagar, Dube becomes unstoppable. Even when faced with skepticism and dismissal from his higher-ups, he is determined to hunt down the mastermind—no matter the cost.
