Kubera 2025 Movie Review

Kuberaa explores the clash between a ruthless capitalist and those trapped below the poverty line. The story hinges on how these opposing worlds collide. Neeraj Mitra (Jim Sarbh), a multi-billionaire, equates fame with power, living in a lavish Mumbai high-rise with an infinity pool. In stark contrast, the “invisible” beggars, dismissed at traffic lights and temples, struggle to survive.

The first hour lays bare these disparate realities. A gripping opening sequence showcases the tycoon’s cutthroat ambition, unafraid to destroy lives. Jim Sarbh delivers a chilling performance as the calculating antagonist, his fluent Telugu adding depth. Sekhar introduces characters unconventionally, with Dhanush’s Deva, a beggar, sparking cheers. Dhanush elevates his role, embodying the oppressed with nuance, backed by writing that vividly portrays the beggars’ lives—their exploitation for basic needs and the indignity even in death.

The worlds intersect through CBI officer Deepak Tej (Nagarjuna), imprisoned for doing his duty. Nagarjuna portrays a conflicted man, torn between conscience and manipulation, with subtle intensity. His expressive eyes and body language evoke a caged lion’s anguish.
