Samajavaragamana 2025 Movie Review
The story follows Bala Subramanyam, aka Balu (Sree Vishnu), a responsible middle-class youth working as a ticketing clerk at a multiplex in Hyderabad. As the sole breadwinner, Balu manages his loving yet quirky family, including his father, Uma Maheswara Rao (Naresh VK), who has been trying to earn his bachelor’s degree for 30 years to unlock a hefty inheritance per his grandfather’s will. Balu, jaded by past experiences, avoids romantic relationships, humorously ensuring girls tie him a Rakhi to keep them at bay.
Enter Sarayu (Reba Monica John), a lively college-goer who becomes a paying guest at Balu’s house. Despite Balu’s initial resistance, the two fall in love, but their romance faces unexpected hurdles tied to family ties and a surprising twist that adds both humor and complexity. The narrative weaves through Balu’s efforts to help his father pass his exams, navigate his love story, and resolve familial complications, all while keeping the audience in splits.
- Sree Vishnu as Balu: Sree Vishnu shines in his return to comedy, leveraging his impeccable comic timing and natural charm. His lengthy monologues, especially one about modern relationships, are laugh-out-loud highlights, earning claps from audiences. His portrayal of a dutiful yet exasperated son is both relatable and entertaining.
- Naresh VK as Uma Maheswara Rao: Naresh steals the show with his hilarious portrayal of a perpetually failing student. His classroom and exam-cheating scenes are comedic gold, making him the MVP of the first half.
- Reba Monica John as Sarayu: Reba delivers a charming debut, balancing modern and traditional vibes. Her chemistry with Sree Vishnu feels organic, though her role takes a backseat in the second half.
- Supporting Cast: Vennela Kishore’s eccentric Kula Sekhar brings whistles in the second half, though his track feels familiar. Srikanth Iyengar, Sudarshan, and others add depth, with Sudarshan’s “Box Office Badshah” role sparking laughs.
