Tanvi the Great 2025 Movie Review
Tanvi Raina (Shubhangi Dutt), a 22-year-old autistic woman from Delhi and daughter of the late Army Captain Samar Raina (Karan Tacker), relocates to Lansdowne, Uttarakhand, to stay with her grandfather, Col. Pratap Raina (Anupam Kher), while her mother, Vidya (Pallavi Joshi), attends a medical conference on autism in New York. Col. Pratap, a solitary man steeped in memories, initially struggles to understand Tanvi’s condition and connect with her.
Vidya assures him that he’ll learn to understand Tanvi in time, and her prediction proves true, surpassing expectations. Despite her set routines and social awkwardness, Tanvi’s natural talent for singing helps her form an immediate bond with her music teacher, Raza Saab (Boman Irani). Her warmth and openness allow her to quickly befriend others, including Col. Pratap’s friend, Brigadier Joshi (Jackie Shroff).
Inspired by her father’s preserved room and his unfulfilled dream of hoisting the Tricolour at Siachen’s Bana Post—the world’s highest battlefield—Tanvi resolves to join the Indian Army, despite her grandfather’s objections. With encouragement from Major Srinivas (Arvind Swami), who runs a military training institute and shares a deep connection with her father, Tanvi undergoes rigorous training. But can she overcome the Army’s restrictions on autistic individuals to fulfill her father’s dream? And what unexpected turns await her journey?
